2012 Jim Barry Watervale Riesling

I’m enjoying the magnanimous nature of these 2012 Clare Valley Rieslings. They’re not just approachable – there is a case to be made that most of them, even though they may age well, will provide just as much enjoyment in their youth as they might in their dotage. It’s up to you what you do with them of course but, when it comes to this 2012 Jim Barry expression from Watervale, I’d be revelling in what it has to offer now.

Riotously expressive aromas of honeysuckle, citrus, unripe papaya, green apple and lavender. Mellifluous in the mouth with the mid-palate bordering on broader honeycomb notes before the finish narrows again with mineral tension. No shortage of flavour, character or drinkablity. 92 Very Good
