2012 dalla mia Finestra Yarra Valley Pinot Noir

imagedalla mia Finestra are a new producer to me. The Finestra vines were planted in 1989 with the sum of Bruce and Jo-Anne Lang’s fruit sold to others until the first release under their own label in 2003. I like both of these 2012s with the Pinot being my pick. Well priced too.

Has some intensity which may be a result of low cropping. Raspberry and loganberries with florals, forest litter and blood orange-tinted acidity. Something which reminds me of rhubarb cookies. Plenty of energy in the mouth. Only just medium-bodied and heavily seasoned with Asian spice. A decent rub of sappy, tea-leaf tannin. Gamine Pinot with precocious length. Cheekbones, short hair and narrow hips. Endearing. 92
