2012 Red Claw Mornington Peninsula Chardonnay

image

Intelligent, crowd-pleasing Chardonnay. It’s not the first time Yabby Lake winemaker Tom Carson has pulled it off under the Red Claw label but this is an especially good release. Even more so when you factor in the price.

A mouthful of white peach, melon and citrus with a clever spicy oak outline. Slightly biscuity, perhaps from the wood or the ten months on lees. It has texture, balance and more than its fair share of length. I could be marking this a touch too hard. 91
