2012 Chapel Hill Sangiovese

imageI was about to type the words ‘il Vescovo’ into the title when I realised that this had just been upgraded to a higher tier. Well deserved too I might add.

Red fruits, sour cherries, a subtle meatiness and dried herbs are the main players with pancetta and pressed flowers in the background. Chewy tannins but not without finesse. I reckon this is the best I’ve seen this wine look. 91
