2011 Shottesbrooke 1337 Botrytis Sauvignon Blanc

shottesbrooke 1337_BotrytisSBProbably a good year to try your hand at a Botrytis style white if you were sourcing grapes from the Adelaide Hills. It was particularly wet there in 2011.

Short, simple and a bit stubby. Marmalade, honey, apricot nectar and toffee. The nose doesn’t have the freshness I’d like to see. There’s something that reminds me of rancid walnut skins in the mix. I don’t think the acid/sugar balance is quite right either. It is certainly sweet though. 85 Average
