2010 Domaine des Bernardins Muscat de Beaumes de Venise

Domaine des Bernardins muscatWent through a bracket of dessert wines recently so I’d best get notes up on them. This is a fortified blend of 75% Muscat Blanc à Petits Grains and 25% of its darker mutation, Muscat à Petits Grains Rouge – which accounts for its amber/copper colour in the glass. Imported by World Wine Estates.

Luscious pan-fried peach, apricot nectar, musk and seville orange aromas with suggestions of rose petals and nasturtiums. The palate is rich and sweet but pepper spice and a spirity edge provide a counterpoint. Good typicité. I quite enjoyed a small glass with some Maggie Beer Pheasant Farm Paté. 89 Good
