2012 Brown Brothers Limited Release Prosecco

brown brothers proseccoA more serious and structured version of Prosecco than the Brown Brothers NV but the sense of bright, frothy fun remains. It tastes a little drier (11g/l residual sugar and an acid level of 6g/l) and the balance of acid and sweetness is more to my taste. There’s also a distinct and attractive almond and nut-skin character that adds complexity and a savoury, slightly bitter counter-point to the varietal fruit flavours.

Green apple and pear with a bit of mashed banana on the midpalate. The finish is refreshingly dominated by lemon citrus. Delicate architecture underpins the infectious enthusiasm in the mouth. Noteworthy persistence. Sophisticated fun. 90 Good
