2012 Swinging Bridge Sauvignon Blanc

Went through a bracket of Australian Sauvignon Blancs last night. Was in a masochistic mood. Two out of ten medalled. A bronze and a gold. This was the former.

Passionfruit, pineapple and gooseberry over herbs. A typically varietal nose other than a whiff of freshly baked bread. The palate has softness and curves courtesy of the usual suspects - lees and barrel work. It’s a cleverly made Sauvignon if not a great one. Lacks a little length. Should please the average drinker without the rest of us being bored out of our minds. No mean feat really. 88 Good
