2011 Whicher Ridge Riesling

I don’t get to taste as much Riesling from the Frankland River as I’d like to. They make a good go of it there. This is in the clean, crisp, linear style. No tricks up its sleeves so to speak; it is what is.

Freshly sliced limes over grapefruit with a hint of spice and a slatey conclusion. Chalky dryness and lots of length. The acidity isn’t harsh or grating but the wine is spry and built for the cellar. Length is admirable. The question mark is over the price, given what else is available. I’ll just give my rating and it’s over to you to make your decision. 91+ Good – Very Good
