2012 Wirra Wirra The Lost Watch Riesling

The name stems from Wirra Wirra founder Greg Trott’s lack of punctuality, attributed to losing a watch that his Father gave him. Apparently he never wore another one after that. I’ve haven’t worn a watch for over a decade myself. These are the days of miracles and wonders…and iPhones…

My first taste of the 2012 vintage and a good way to kick it off too. Purity, precision and length – traditional Australian dry Riesling with a touch of pithy grip at the end. Limes and green apples, suggestions of flowers and a touch of spice. Coiled and built for age. For now, eat with delicate fish and chips. The fruit should fill out in the next five years and the real complexity will come after that. Very Good
