2011 Kirrihill Slate Creek Riesling

More affordable Riesling goodness…for those who just can’t get enough.

Hyacinth and bath salts accompany lemon citrus and fennel. The acidity isn’t too daunting but there’s more than enough to keep the wine on track at all points. Drinking well right now – in fact, I wouldn’t look at cellaring this myself (a point perhaps hammered home by the prematurely developed 2010 tasted alongside). Flavours are a little washed out but otherwise it’s hard to fault. Average – Good
