Hardly skeletal or stark like classically devised young Hunter Semillons, Andrew Thomas’ interpretations lend themselves to early approachability – which is not to say that they won’t age a treat as well.
There’s some forward thinking tropical fruit on display here; melon and passionfruit mostly. Given some air those flavours take a back seat to the expected lemon/lime citrus characters. An extremely detailed wine which throws up suggestions of thyme, mint, sherbet and anise as it evolves in the glass. Inbuilt textural complexity via lees and admirable extension through the back-palate. I like this. A lot. Excellent
