Made in the accessible mode of Australian Merlot; ie soft, ripe, generous and easy to drink. However, within these specifications, it is a very well produced wine. It’s balanced and harmonious, the quality of the fruit is fairly good and there is some decent tannin amongst the juicy flavours.
Briary notes and a little tobacco give a nod to interest and complexity. At its price point it isn’t hard to recommend. Plenty of value on offer for those seeking this sort of wine. I quite enjoyed a glass myself.
