2008 Wynns Black Label Cabernet Sauvignon

Coonawarra 14.0% Screwcap $31.95

Well, this wine has been reviewed to death but Wine Will Eat Itself is light on Coonawarra Cabernet content and I just can’t let that situation stand can I?

It’s an excellent release from a vintage that wasn’t as difficult as 2007 but increasingly doesn’t look to be as sterling as many initially suggested. Whilst approaching full bodied-ness, it handles its weight magnificently. Blackcurrants with cigar leaf, mint and chocolate. Raspberry is woven in tightly and there are nuances of roasted capsicum, oak derived spice and cedar. It flows beautifully and the structure is faultless.

This would be great value at its recommended retail price but we all know that you won’t have to pay anything near that. If you like Coonawarra Cabernet (or Cabernet full stop) then stock your cellar generously with it.

    Yep, that's it Jeremy.

4 is enough for me to cellar though. I'm trying to make space for variety!!
