2010 Scarborough Green Label Semillon

Hunter Valley 11.0% Screwcap $22

I haven’t been sold on youthful, drink now Hunter Semillons, but this makes a decent case for the style. It’s softer, rounder and fuller than the White Label but still light and zesty.

It smells of apple blossom, citrus and a little grass with light tropical fruits; in particular, melons. Broader and with more palate weight than its sister wine, but in a positive way…it is meant to be able to be enjoyed earlier! Lacks a bit of that wine’s length too.

Overall, it’s crisp, dry, light and refreshing. It will work well with food. You can guess what food. I drank mine with prawns…just for the record. Very pleasant it was too.
