2013 The Story Henty Pinot Noir

imageSourced from two vineyards this year. The Warrnambool site and another parcel from Drumborg picked at a lower baumé to retain freshness. Doesn’t display the same smoky pan juices of the previous release. It’s more delicate and accessible with a translucent beauty. Whole bunches have come down from 100% to 35% with about 10% new oak in the mix. The intent is a wine that can be enjoyed in its youth and that over-delivers at its price point. And that’s very much what you get.

Sweet-sour red cherries, rosy florals and pomegranate rubs shoulders with beetroot earthiness and a mix of spices. Spry with super-fine tannins and sappy closure. Very appealing. 92
