I actually prefer this to the 2012 release. It provides me with a greater sense of detail.
A pleasing level of aromatic clarity and expressiveness here. Red apples, green tea, honeysuckle, apricot and candied ginger with some minty and aniseed-like herbal infusions. The palate is fulsome and texturally layered: wax and creaminess. Nutty and warmly spiced on the backend with deft integration of slightly bitter grip into the mise en scène. Has the savoury, cheesy appeal I often look for in this kind of blend but the lees doesn’t overly obfuscate the other characters. 91
