2012 Woods Crampton Eden Valley Shiraz

imageTo be released next month when it will probably look better again. Not that it’s too shabby right now.

All that purple fruited Eden Valley goodness with vitality, violets, pepper and mint. Succulent boysenberries and black cherries are left to their own devices with the oak toned down. Attractive depth of flavour. Finishes on a saline note with a hint of tar. The tannins are a highlight; silky, long and nuanced. 92+

Oh wow, obviously felt that it needed more time in either barrel or bottle over the Barossa from the same stable/ vintage.

  2. Yep, interesting hey? I think they were spot on too. Was tempted to add a + sign. It may indeed be warranted.

  3. Matt Broomhead says:

$19? Crazy. Need some of this…

  4. GW says:

Tried this a month or so ago. Very good if you like Eden Valley Shiraz. Certainly a + sign on the score would be worthwhile…

  5. Third day open and it has improved again. A + sign it is.
