While I would have ideally tasted this alongside Dave Fletcher’s Nebbiolo from the same vineyard, curiosity got the better of me and I was only in possession of one of the wines. Anyway, Dave Chatfield and Nathan Reeves impress with this inaugural release of the variety under the Out of Step label.
Savoury, earthen Nebbiolo with subtle peaks of poached strawberry sweetness. Light and nimble in the mouth. Can’t pick up much in the way of oak. Sour cherries, fennel bulbs, orange peel and almond skins. Attractive flavours and aromas. Delicate yet prominent acidity and firm, layered raspy-leathery tannin. This site is really proving itself. 92

I only realised that Dave Fletcher also draws fruit form this vineyard when I was trying to glean a little info on the source.
Delicious wine. Still drinking well two days later.
Not sure Dave Fletcher will be accessing the vineyard post 2012 – he’s all Italian now. And yes, this stood up well over three days of tasting. Didn’t really gain in weight or intensity but flavour and structure held their ground.
Oh, OK, that’s poss what allowed Dave and Nathan to pick it up from 2013 onwards.
Cheers
Yes, I believe so.
