A cooler, wetter year doesn’t seem to have made any impact on the quality of a wine that’s quickly establishing an enviable track record.
Rather complex in profile. Blackberries flecked with red fruits. Potpourri, sage, oregano, and cured tobacco are all in the frame as well. The acidity brightens the wine yet remains in carriage with the flavours. Takes a savoury turn from the mid-palate onwards as a strong massage of tea-leaf tannin makes itself felt. The segue is accomplished and seamless. Has the structure and balance to cellar well but it’s worth decanting for now. 93
