I never did get around to tasting the critically acclaimed 2011 release so I can’t offer much in terms of comparisons. I can however say that this wine stands up excellently in and of itself.
More clarity and detail than the Seppelt Jaluka reviewed below. Higher-grade fruit and toasty oak with superior integration. Superb flow, adroit use of lees and just a faint whisper of smoke. White stonefruit, green pear, grapefruit, cashews and lime are all inscribed ornately and distinctly on the palate. Some oatmeal lends a hand to both flavour and texture profiles. The conclusion is stony, almost flinty and completely convincing. It’s already drinking well but I’m tempted to cellar a couple of bottles. 94

Sounds like it has a bit more weight than the ‘delicate’ 2011 (top wine, that one).
