The Hilltops region didn’t escape the rain that hit most NSW grape growing areas in 2012. It’s left its mark on this wine.
Not really green or unripe but dilute and lacking substance. More black and red berries than cassis. A touch of menthol with capsicum and some blonde tobacco leaf. Not an oak heavy Cabernet and it wouldn’t have enough intensity or flavour to carry it. Good enough luncheon claret though. 87
