2012 Teusner The Garden of Earthly Pleasures Shiraz Grenache

teusner pleasure gardenAn Aldi Liquor online exclusive and perhaps a nod to Hieronymus Bosch? “For he spake and it was done; he commanded and it stood fast”. Perhaps not Kym Teusner and company’s most ambitious work but quite stunning in terms of value.

A little diffuse but otherwise impossible to fault. Some florals, juicy raspberries over plums and chocolate coated cherries. Good form, lively and medium-bodied. Baking spice and a nudge of ripe tannin on a finish with just a hint of earthen savouriness. Some flesh to sink your teeth into in. Geez, you could only hope all fifteen dollar wines offered this much while being so damn drinkable. 90
