2012 Battle of Bosworth Chardonnay

battle of bosworth chardonnayThe third release of Battle of Bosworth’s Chardonnay. I rather liked the couple of glasses I had of the 2011. This doesn’t rate as highly.

Yellow peach, figs and melon with suggestions of butterscotch and woodspice. Savoury, nutty oak tempers the sunshine in a bottle happiness and there is a bit of solidsy funk. As much as I like how the barrel work interacts with the flavours it does sit a touch too firmly within the wine and it’s not really a cellaring option. There’s just enough acidity to maintain shape but not enough to consider it as anything other than a drink now proposition. 88
