A wine which has me salivating at the thought of the coming releases of the 2012 Luke Lambert standard and reserve Syrahs. 20% whole bunches, no new oak. Not overly stalky.
It’s fleshier than the higher tiered wines have been in the past, the acidity less bustling. In short, you don’t have to wait on this one. Mulberry and dark cherry fruits with star anise, pepper and almost curry-like spice. Violets on the nose, herbs on the palate. Tannin is evenly threaded through the flavours. Lively and vital but not at the expense of depth. Cool climate Shiraz lovers rejoice. 92
