A challenging vintage for Touraine in the Loire Valley apparently. This is the first time I’ve dipped my toes into the water so to speak. And it was a struggle.
Asparagus risotto, ginger beer, an oxidative-like nuttiness, lemon curd and herbs. Rather unctuous with a honeyed palate displaying soft acid. Plenty of woody phenolics and only a little of the cleansing slate I’d hoped for. The aftertaste is all tea leaf. An uneven wine. 86
