If you’re looking for a Sparkling Shiraz with overt aged complexity, particularly of the mushroom variety, then this isn’t the wine for you. At least not yet. I’d love to see what it might serve up in another five to ten years time though. Sensibly crown sealed so you could lay it down with the utmost confidence. Or you could just go at it now. It’s drinking well.
Remarkably fresh fruited but it’s not all about primary, juicy character. Drinking chocolate, new leather, spiced orange peel, licorice and nuts accompany the cherry-berry fruits and plums. Depth of savoury flavour with plenty of drying, silty tannin. No cloying dosage. Oak is situated adroitly within the overall package. Persistent, delicious, clean and moreish. 93+
