Single vineyard wine with vines around the 60 year-old mark. Some whole bunch work. Small husband and wife operation. Beautiful labels.
Light red berry/cherry aromatics with a hint of wilted roses. The fruit lacks a bit of focus and intensity – it’s mostly watercolours – but there’s an admirable weave of tannin running through the palate and it’s the structure that provides the substance here. Hints of marzipan and tar with Xmas spice on the back-palate. Somewhat abbreviated and that fruit does need to step up to the plate more but there’s something to work with. 87
