This shouldn’t appeal to me as much as it does. I’m seldom moved by Adelaide Hills Pinot Noir and the amount of high-grade yet glossy new oak – a key component of the wine – usually puts me off. Despite that I found this nothing short of compelling.
Satin texture and a powerful depth of cherry and black raspberry fruit. Cracked pepper seasoning and a good deal of it along with a dash of cinnamon as a counterpoint. That creamy, clove spiced wood frames the wine without dominating it. Some minty lift works well within the overall context. Terrific flow. The ultra-fine tannins which conclude the affair are sensual and emphatic. I doff my hat. 95
