With the Shiraz Viognier fad well and truly over it’s good to see that those who made the most of the blend still plugging away with success. Yalumba have always seemed to produce worthwhile expressions.
This is perfumed, slippery, savoury edged and smooth with supple tannin. It hits the textural cues with ease. It’s a wine of boysenberries, cherries, flowers and spice; pepper, anise and clove. Hints of roast meats and tar add further intrigue. Eden Valley Shiraz with a twist. 90
