I don’t really drink De Bortoli’s Sacred Hill range but when they’re on song they deliver good value for minimum expenditure. This is 93% Semillon from the Riverina and 7% Sauvignon from the King Valley. Not that I suspect its target market cares.
Fresh and crisp, yes, but with subtle leesy texture that you probably shouldn’t expect for seven dollars. Has a bit of length too although I found a distracting saccharin quality to the finish. Citrus and grass to the fore, subdued tropicals filling out the package. The acidity is bracing rather than biting. Not bad. 86
