2012 Maretti Langhe Rosso

imageA blend of 70% Barbera and 30% Nebbiolo, imported by Fourth Wave Wine. It’s leathery, slightly gamey, savoury and entirely worth your while.

Red cherries, fennel seeds and sage with plums laying down the bass line. Has a little rose petal mouth perfume. Bright acid and assertive tannin but not at all foreboding as a youngster. A tough import to compete with at the price. 91

  1. Stu says:

Smart presentation too. Something stlyishly NE Italian about it with a hint of 1930s South of France meets Cinzano.

    Damn impressive portfolio theirs.

  2. Yes, liked the label too – and very well described. An impressive stable of wines for sure.
