A blend of 86% Cabernet and 14% Merlot from Coldstream in the Yarra Valley. Maturation took place in 225 litre barriques (35% new) for 17 months.
Smells alive and tastes that way too. Medium-bodied at most with the emphasis firmly on freshness and clarity. On day one the red-fruited high tones are dominant but by the second day notes of blackberry are on equal footing. Subtle herbs and autumnal leaf. A bit of chocolate and spice. Bright acidity. Elegant and enjoyable lunch time drinking. 90
