Sees 18 months in American oak. It’s the entry-level Shiraz from Maxwell wines. As with many entry-level wines from 2011 in South East Australia, it has borne the brunt of a wet year.
Bracken and mulch. Sweet oak, red and black berry flavour but no purity to any of it. The acid sits uncomfortably in the mix. A bit of pepper. There’s a concentrate-like feel to the whole affair. An uncomfortable wine. 85 Average
