The Shiraz and Grenache come from McLaren Vale, the Touriga from Langhorne Creek. 50%, 25% and 25% respectively. Aged for 18 months in new and old French oak.
Redcurrants, cherries, minty lift, vanilla and red earth. Spicy and leathery on the palate. Plum bass notes. Tarry oak and some dried herb bitterness. Lacks a bit of length. Sweetness in stark contrast to savoury and bitter characters. Doesn’t quite come together but it’s a fair wine for the price and has some interest. 87 Average – Good
