I’d still call this a Grigio despite the fact that it has plenty of ripe flavour and a sense of sumptuousness. The acidity has that wet slate character giving the wine ample freshness and structure without coming across as at all intrusive. And if it is a Grigio, it may be the best Australian take on the style I’ve tasted.
Ripe pear extending to tropical notes, subtle sulphides, abundant florals and a bit of musk. Actually that sounds a lot like a Gris doesn’t it? Oh well, who cares? It tastes good and it feels good in the mouth. No residual sugar or oak are detectable. Fruit purity reigns supreme. Long and dry on conclusion. Interesting, delicious and thirst-slaking. 93 Very Good

Taste pear? Call it gris. Anything else is misleading the consumer, I think.
