2012 Leaping Lizard Sauvignon Blanc

leaping lizard savThe website tells me that Leaping Lizard wines offer “distinctive varietal fruit flavours that are sure to exceed expectations.” Obviously my expectations are too high. Tasted alongside the 2012 Semillon Sauvignon Blanc and neither impressed.

Tart acidity is turned up to eleven. Teeth jarring stuff. Grass, sweat, passionfruit and red capsicum.  I guess you could file it under “crisp and refreshing” but you’ll find better examples within the price range. If you still want to go here, I suggest you chill it within an inch of its life. 84 Average
