A little about Handpicked wines from the press release:
“Handpicked Wines is a collaboration between passionate growers, winemakers and wine experts who all have one purpose; to make high quality wines from the world’s best regions.
Each Handpicked wine begins as a partnership with a carefully selected wine grower or maker, whose vineyard and whose wine eloquently tells the story and style of their region.
Making each Handpicked wine then becomes a joint effort between Handpicked’s own production team-headed by winemaking guru Gary Baldwine – and the site’s owners and operators, whose experience is naturally invaluable.”
The bottle lists the winemaker as none other than Brendan Keys of BK Wines. Vines are over 100 years old. An expressive wine aromatically. Sweet, perfumed florals exude from the glass along with apple, musk and ripe lime. Gently textured and juicy with yielding acidity and agreeable herbal bitterness. Really good reach. A big step up from the Clare Valley release. 93 Very Good
