Yarra Valley Sauvignon Blanc doesn’t seem to be as burdened by the in your face tropical fruit flavours you find in many other regions. It’s one of a number of reasons that I enjoy the odd bottle now and then.
Punchy citrus with passionfruit playing second fiddle. Some leesy funk on the nose and a gently rounded aspect to the mouthfeel. That lees seems to nurture the acidity rather than engulf and smother it. Fruit purity is maintained. A little grass and some cut herbs as well, but once again these are bit players. Such sensible treatment of good quality grapes. Shame we don’t see it more often. 90 Good
