Perhaps not the greatest ever vintage for Hunter Semillon but the Eather brothers have achieved an impressive result from the outstanding Braemore Vineyard.
Lanolin and toasty notes are beginning to establish themselves alongside a layer of lemon curd but there’s lots of life left in this wine. Plenty of fresh citrus attests to that. Some broader warm vintage characters but it’s still dart-like in its line and fine acidity. Doesn’t let up on the finish either. Enjoy it now but leave a few bottles for at least five years down the track – when it should be even better. A more than handy wine to have in your arsenal while you wait for the brilliant 2004 to reach its drinking window. 93+ Very Good
