Negro Amaro is a grape that’s native to Southern Italy and fifth generation Calabrian Dominic Torzi and his partner in crime Tracy Matthews have made a rip snorter of a drink from it. Light to medium bodied smashable, new wave Barossa wine.
Juicy red berries, pleasing hints of sour, dark morello cherry and a little floral lift courtesy of 30% whole bunches. Hints of anise and charcuterie as well. Animated in the mouth with the added refreshment of some stalky tannin. The oak is a minor player. Tasted it, loved it and polished off most of the bottle with some Cajun chicken. Spanking gear to slurp down. 92 Very Good
