It’s quite alarming to see the decrease in Hunter Shiraz on Queensland retail shelves over the last few years. Oh well, at least the trusty Brokenback remains available. Good wine, very good price. No ’4 Acres’ made in 2010 so a very small percentage of that fruit made its way into this wine.
Red cherry/berry fruit, freshly kicked earth, latent leather and a little pepper. Acid shoulders most of the structural load with loose knit tannins adding a hint of abrasion at the end. Not much oak evident. It’s spry and lively; little more than light bodied and likely to benefit from some time in the bottle. 90+ Good
