For those wanting a less expensive take on Cabernet Shiraz, ‘The Scribbler’ provides a nice hit for the price. You’ll probably feel less guilty opening it on a week night too. 61% Cabernet, 39% Shiraz.
Sweet, jubey blackcurrant upfront with some vanillin oak contributing further to its affable nature. Aniseed, mint and raspberry syrup pop up too. Has neither the depth nor the length of its more esteemed siblings but it’s highly quaffable without an absence of structure and shape. Ready to go now. Good
