2008 Karra Yerta Shiraz Cabernet

Karra Yerta wines are almost always unforced, honest and extremely good value. This version of ‘The Great Australian Red’ is no different. It’s a blend of dry-grown Shiraz from Flaxman’s Valley, Shiraz from the Moppa area and Cabernet from High Eden.

It’s not as heavy as many Barossan reds from the warm 2008 vintage. Jubey blackcurrant, chocolate oak, tobacco, tomato bush, pepper and spearmint. Long strands of tannin post a juicy entry and mid-palate. Structured but ever so quaffable. Won’t fall over any time soon either. Very Good
