There’s not much good Arneis made in Australia. Having said that, if you’re gonna make a go of the variety, the King Valley is great place to start. Considering the lowish alcohol, this has a whole lot of mouthfeel going on. It’s not short of complexity either…although it’s of the subtle kind.
It’s got that white Italianate pear groove going on but it’s mostly savoury. Citrus shards and mineral shadings counterpointed by beeswax and nuts. All the detail of great gnostic art combined with a sense of cohesiveness that only becomes apparent as you move further away and view the wine in its entirety. Very Good
