2009 d’Arenberg The Custodian Grenache

Now this is the style of Grenache that personally turns me on. Possibly, that’s too much information. It’s narrower, more silken, soft and flowing.

No confectionary within Cooee! It’s simplish but limpid and just really tasty. The price is great too. It smells mostly of raspberries and damp sods of earth. Built around a line of acid with a handsome line and features alongside a cohesive mindset. There’s even a suggestion of blue fruit on the medium bodied palate. An understated note of pitch and some varietal dried herbs round it out. Lacks a little length but the texture, savouriness and value make it a winner. Good – Very Good
