2010 Ten Minutes by Tractor Wallis Chardonnay

When the Wallis vineyard sings, damn it sings well. This is the up there with any Australian Chardonnay I’ve tasted this year. It would beat the pants off some Grand Cru Burgundy too.

Immediately appealing with oranges, citrus zest and fennel pollen. The oak feels pared back and the fruit is ethereal yet intense. It’s the lightest but the longest of the 2010 Ten Minutes Chardonnays. Suggestions of paraffin, basil and nuts along with a smidgen of honeycomb add complexity. Acidity is flawless and fine. Plenty of minerals in there too. I coud wax lyrical about this for hours. It’s just a stunning wine. Exceptional

  1. GW says:

Never had a 10x wine. Sounds excellent.

  2. I ‘m guessing you’d like this GW. Both Julian and I were of a similar opinion on its quality. Hope 10x by Tractor send you one. I just took advantage of Coldrey’s generosity :)
