Probably the most famous vineyard in this series, Lusatia Park is situated in Woori Yallock, a touch north-west of Guerin. We’re still talking about the upper-Yarra here and cooler sites.
This is beautifully nutty and quite textural with mealy elements and a hint of marshmallow softness and sweetness. It’s still taut and linear though, with white peach being pulled into line by grapefruit and the driving acid of the vintage. The finish is exhaustive, spicy, briney and minerally. In its youth it is restrained, precise and a little stern. Time will see it relax and unfurl into a Chardonnay of world-class beauty. Excellent – Exceptional
