2010 Kingston Estate Shiraz

Vinous white bread this may be but at the price it should make a lot of people happy. What’s more, it seems to be what Kingston Estate do best. I’m not trying to champion mediocrity but I do think wines like this have a place when executed properly.

Sweet and simple plum and berry fruit with a little spice on the side. Gets a little earthy/dirty. Not enough to scare away the casual drinker though. Grainy tannin is also there to remind you that it’s wine. It isn’t endowed with tremendous length or precision but it is fresh enough and easy to drink. Average

  1. John says:

Tried it last night. Phenolic. The Cabernet kills it for value.

  2. Agree on both points John. Have the 2011 Cabernet here to taste. Will give it a whirl soon.

    Cheers
