The website refers to ‘the higher natural acidity of Sangiovese’ but whether the acidity here is natural or adjusted doesn’t change the fact that it’s challenging. In combination with a broad wave of tannin this results in a wine that desperately needs a plate of food beside it.
Light to medium bodied with aromas of red and dark cherries, dried flowers, oranges, hay and tin sheds. Bay leaf and oregano rule the savoury finish. It benefits from a long decant and could do with more time in the bottle. Average – Good
